This scholarship is offered by the Society of Plant and Molecular Biology to provide financial support for the best-performing students in plant biology subject in level I and level II.
Who can apply?
2nd year and 3rd year undergraduate students following Plant Biology in the Faculty of Science, University of Kelaniya
Number of scholarships: One (01) scholarship of Rs. 10,000/= (one time) in each category
- The best-performed student in Plant Biology course units and BIOL 11522 course unit in her/his first year.
- The best-performed student in Plant Biology course units and BIOL 11522 course unit in her/his first two years.
Note :
- Students who are subjected to disciplinary action by the university can not apply for the scholarship.
- Students who have been prosecuted by the courts for a criminal offense are not eligible for the scholarship.
Please submit your duly completed application on or before 8th December 2023 to the department office. Incomplete applications will be rejected.

Department of Plant and Molecular Biology successfully completed the AHEAD ELTA-ELSE project in June 2023. Head of the Department, Project coordinator and Activity coordinator were participated in the closing ceremony held at BMICH on 9th August 2023. Outcomes of the project were published and the synopsis published in the e -proceeding.
