In a fine and conducive environment for study and research, the Department of Plant & Molecular Biology provides modern facilities for students to pursue their studies. These include two teaching laboratories and three research laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment.
New research laboratory of the Department of Plant & Molecular Biology, was declared open by the Vice-Chancellor, University of Kelaniya on the 17 of July 2015. The main purpose of establishing this laboratory is to facilitate modern cutting edge research and to serve as a service center for the plant-based industries and community.
