Establishing the Analytics Consultancy Centre(ACC): Translating Academic Expertise into Real-World Impact
The Analytics Consultancy Centre (ACC) attached to the Department of Statistics & Computer Science, Faculty of Science, University of Kelaniya is envisioned as a sustainable hub for advancing excellence in key domains in Statistics and Computer Science. These include statistical modelling, data science, computational research, web development, database management, data analytics, and machine learning. The Centre emphasizes practical applications across diverse sectors such as public health, education, agriculture, environmental monitoring, finance, and governance. Dedicated to bridging academic knowledge with practical data challenges, the Centre empowers students, researchers, and industry collaborators to generate impactful, data-informed solutions for business, research, and public service.The Centre will play a key role in strengthening research capability and capacity in Sri Lanka by training the next generation of researchers, fostering interdisciplinary partnerships, and creating a sustainable platform for innovation.
The ACC is being established as part of a wider collaboration between the University of Kelaniya and University College London (UCL), supported by the DIAGNOSE-DR project. The Centre has now received formal approval from the University and will be operational soon.
