A workshop on “R: Software for Statistical Modelling & Computing” was successfully held on 21^st of July 2019 in the Department of Statistics & Computer Science, Faculty of Science, University of Kelaniya. The workshop was collaboratively organized by the Research and Services Centre and the Department of Statistics & Computer Science. Participants were gained hands-on experience in learning the software through basics of R software, simulation with R and exploratory data analysis. The resource person contributed to this workshop was Dr. D. M. P. Dissanayaka, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Statistics & Computer Science, Faculty of Science, University of Kelaniya.

Scientific Research Workshop-II for 4th year research students of the Faculty of Science was conducted on 21^st June 2019 for 30 participants at the Computer lab, F4 Building, Faculty of Computing & Technology, Resource persons were Dr. N. V. Chandrasekara, Dr. U. P. Liyanage, Dr. L. P. N. D. Premarthna and Dr. R. P. Wanigatunge.

Scientific Research Workshop-I for 4th year research students of the Faculty of Science was conducted on 15th March 2019 for 145 participants at the Faculty Board Room, Resource persons were Prof. P. A. Paranagama, Dr. C. C. Jayasundara and Ms. A. M. C. H. Attanayake.

The Fulbright University Fair organized by the Research and Services Centre with the Education USA Advising Center at the United States - Sri Lanka Fulbright Commission (US-SLFC). Research seminar on “Explore the way to earn a Postgraduate degree from USA - 2019” was conducted by Ms. Edna Selvanayagam, EducationUSA Advisor, Sri Lanka Fulbright Commission, on 14^th March 2019 at the Department of Industrial Management for 65 participants.
