Gas Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (GC–MS) Analysis

Sample Preparation Requirements

  • Samples must be completely dried prior to submission.
  • Samples should be free from visible coloration and particulate matter.
  • The analyte concentration should generally be below approximately 150 ppm.
  • Samples must be filtered using a suitable 0.2 µm PTFE syringe filter prior to injection.
  • Samples should be prepared in a GC–MS-compatible solvent with appropriate volatility and chemical stability.
  • The client must provide the required analytical method, including (where applicable):
    • Target compounds and expected mass range
    • Sample preparation procedure
    • Solvent information
    • GC column specifications
    • Oven temperature program
    • Carrier gas conditions
    • Injection parameters
    • MS acquisition parameters (e.g., scan mode/SIM parameters)

Charges

  • The cost for a single GC–MS data acquisition run (maximum runtime: 30 minutes; carrier gas flow equivalent to approximately 1.0 mL min⁻¹) is LKR 8,500 per sample.

Additional charges will apply for:

  • Additional injections or confirmation runs
  • Repeat analysis due to inappropriate sample preparation
  • Additional trials requested by the client
