Prof. Ms. Annista Wijayanayake received her Doctor of Engineering and Master of Engineering in Industrial Engineering and Management, specializing in Financial Engineering from Tokyo Institute of Technology Japan, respectively in 2001 and 1998. Prior to her postgraduate studies she had completed a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management from University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. Currently she is serving as a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Industrial Management, University of Kelaniya.
Prof. Ms. Wijayanayake is having research and teaching experience in Japan and Australia in tertiary education on undergraduate and postgraduate level. She had served as a honorary Research Fellow at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) Australia and as a Teaching Associate, at Department of Management and Department of Econometrics and Business Statistics, Faculty of Business and Econometrics, Monash University-Australia from 2017-2019. She won many international awards for her research and teachings. She received the academic excellence award for her Masters degree by research by Tokyu Foundation-Japan for Inbound Students in 1998. She also received the 2019 teaching excellence award from the Department of Econometrics and Business Statistics-Monash University, Australia, for her teachings.
Prof. Ms. Wijayanayake had served as an Academic Advisor for B.Sc in Management and Information Technology degree programme, University of Kelaniya from 2003 to 2008. She served as the Chief Grant coordinator in “Quality and Innovation Grant” offered by World bank to upgrade and enhance the quality of undergraduate study programmes in Sri Lanka. Further she had served as the Chair of the International Conference on Applied and Pure Sciences (ICAPS 2020) She had worked as the coinvestigator of international research on unnatural deaths among women and girls in Sri Lanka which is funded by United Nation Population fund, Sri Lanka. Further she Served as Rapporteur at the national Workshop on “Enhancing Gender equity /Equality in Sri Lankan universities organised, International Labour Organization. Her research has been featured in prestigious journals such as Mathematical Programming, International Journal of Theoretical and Applied Finance, Journal of Global Optimization and in many International Conference Proceedings.
