Inauguration ceremony for the 10th Anniversary of ENCM Program was held on 06th June 2016 at the Science Faculty Auditorium.Prof. Sunanda Madduma Banara, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya was the Chief Guest and Prof. Lal Mervin Darmasiri, chairman of Central Environment Authority was the Guest of Honour. Chairman of the Research Council, Chair and Senior Professor in the Department of Zoology and Environmental Management, Prof. M.J.S. Wijeyaratne address the gathering. Head of the Department of Zoology and Environmental Management welcomed the audience. Dr. Primali Weerasinghe, Senior Treasure/ENCM society delivered the vote of thanks.

The ENCM degree program is a unique multidisciplinary BSc degree programme that addresses Environmental Conservation and Management. This programme was commenced in 2006, and during the past 10 years, the University of Kelaniya has produced more than 300 ENCM graduates who, at present, are working in Government as well as in private sector organizations holding various positions while some other graduates are carrying out post graduate studies overseas. There is a high recognition for our graduates nationally and internationally. Whenever necessary, the ENCM curriculum is revised to suit the job market and to address the environmental trends.
