 Overview




The Society of microbiology is one of the main student academic societies in University of Kelaniya. It is working on knowledge sharing, charitable works and mainly improving skills of microbiology undergraduates in University of Kelaniya, creating a wide range of network between science undergraduates and cooperate world, together with the strength of the past alumni of the Department of Microbiology, University of Kelaniya.
 
The Society of microbiology was established by 1987/1988 batch of the Department of Microbiology and has grown with generation to generation, empowering undergraduates to reach their academic and career goals through passionate activities.

The Society of Microbiology proudly presents their magazine ‘MICROBES’ every year exposing Innovative, Applied microbiological aspects to the scientific world through the knowledge gathered with undergraduates and experts in the field.
 


Recent Events and Activities by the Society of Microbiology

  • Vidulakara Punarawalokana – 27, 28, and 29 Dec 2019
The Society of Microbiology proudly represented the Department of Microbiology at “Vidulakara Punarawalokana", the exhibition held for the celebration of 60th anniversary of University of Kelaniya.

 
  • Donations
The Society of Microbiology donated school shoes and stationeries to Hindurangala Vidyalaya, Ratnapura District, Sri Lanka as an expedient action for flood disaster occurred in Sri Lanka 2017.
         
  • Vidya 2017
The Society of Microbiology was actively participated and proudly represented the Department of Microbiology at ‘Vidya 2017’, the exhibition held to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Faculty of Science, University of Kelaniya.



  • Microbioloxista
