Semiconductor Research Group

The Semiconductor Research Group of Department of Physics and Electronics, University of Kelaniya was established in 1985 by Vidya Nidhi Professor Emeritus W P Siripala.  Main force of the research group is the development of highly efficient photovoltaic and photoelectrochemical solar energy conversion devices with low-cost semiconductor materials and techniques. Group has well-equipped research laboratory for growth and characterization of semiconductor materials as well as fabrication and characterization of photovoltaic and photoelectrochemical devices. Our group has produced many postgraduates. Currently several students are working their research studies leading to their postgraduate degrees.
