Department of Mathematics has organized a field visit to Oil Refinery of Ceylon Petroleum Corporation at Sapugaskanda for thirty four students who are following Mathematics as a main subject on 24th of June in 2015. Four temporary staff members and 2 academic staff members are also participated.
The main objective of this field visit is to provide an opportunity for the students to refresh and gain knowledge about how the theories they learned, can be applied in real life situations. Further, provides them a chance to have discussions with staff members to enhance their knowledge.
Mr. Edirisinghe, senior officer of training welcomed all and the presentation about the oil refinery was delivered by Mr. Kodagoda( Chemical Engineer). After that students visited the site with the help of two chemical engineers.
