MAS Holdings Award for the Most Outstanding Student recognizes the need for students to develop themselves on four broad areas: academic, extracurricular, soft skills and community services. The award is open for all final year students in the Special and General degree programs and applicants will be evaluated by a panel comprising of representatives from both the faculty and Senior Executives from MAS Holdings.

In MAS Award 2018, Mr. Supun Fernando won the Most Outstanding Student award, while Ms. Maneesha Dias and Ms. Tharushi Ilangakoon won the first runner-up and second runner-up places respectively.

the foremost tech-talk series organized by the Department of Industrial Management, to develop innovative ideas among young generation and provide them with a better environment for making their ideas happen with the hand of cooperative sector, was held glamorously on  05th of April 2019 at 2pm   .This session focused on giving a better understanding to students about their future career and to bring them up to a next level in academic skills, technical skills and soft skills. The session was hosted by Mr. Janaka Senanayake; Software Engineer from National Development Bank and Mr. Bilaal Hassan; Business Analyst at LSEG Technology. Mr. Janaka made awareness for students to be IT professionals and Mr. Bilaal explained career opportunities and progress that students can gain as management professionals.

Modern Game Development, the first session of infoStudio tech-talk series for the year of 2018 was held successfully at the multimedia room of Department of Industrial Management, University of Kelaniya on 11th of July 2018. Resource person was Mr. Thilina Premasiri , Director & Head of Game Development - Arimac Lanka Company Private Limited. The session aimed to enhance a set of skills including IT skills, creativity and imagination, logical thinking for problem - solving, the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, patience and attention to detail.

Introduction to Dynamic NAV, the third infoStudio session was held successfully at the multimedia room of DIM-University of Kelaniya on 14th of November 2018 with the contribution of ISMAPAC. The resource person was Mr. Yasitha Udawatta an expert on ERP systems. The session allows the participants to have an insight on ERP system with the introduction to Dynamic NAV.

The third info-studio session for the year 2018 was successfully held at the Multi-media room of the Department of Industrial Management on 31st October, 2018. The session was conducted by Mr. Shanaka de Silva, the director of Ernst and Young.  He is a renowned expert with over 20 years of experience in IT industry with over 12 years in Senior Management positions with exposure to both managerial and technical spheres underpinned by more than eight years of wide-ranging consulting experience at a top-tier global organization. The session was an eye opener for MIT undergraduates as the spokesperson elaborated on how “digital disruptions”, the hot button phrase floating around the business world affects the industry at large and what opportunities lie there for the students.
