MIRROR mirror

SELFIES… self-portrait photographs. This is the latest trend of youth. Typically, selfies are taken with a digital camera or a camera phone held in hand or supported by a selfie stick. Selfies are often shared on social network services such as Facebook, Instagram and twitter. They are usually flattering and made to appear casual. Most selfies are taken with a camera held at arm’s length or pointed at a mirror, rather than by using Self-Timer. A selfy stick can be used to position the camera farther way from the subject, allowing the camera to see more around them. However, when a person by standing in front of a mirror, although they get a full height selfie, the camera or the camera phone is usually visible on the captured picture and because of that the picture may look tacky. The other problem with selfies is that, if the user turns away from his camera screen he can’t view his pose. MIRROR mirror is the solution. MIRROR mirror is a selfie camera which can be fixed to a mirror. That camera can connect to the user’s smart phone via Wi-Fi. When the user connects his smart phone to MIRROR mirror user can see his live video from his phone. In other words, user can see what MIRROR mirror sees. Even though, the user turns away from the mirror, he can see what the camera sees in his smart phone. Also user can capture his best pose without anyone’s help and it will be saved in the smart phone. There is no need to hold a selfie stick or hold a camera in hand. The user can freely move his hands and get a perfect photo by himself. MIRROR mirror is basically involved with image processing and it needs bit advance technology. Therefore, “Raspberry pi 1 model B+” is used to develop this product. A Raspberry pi 2MP camera has connected to Raspberry computer. Using that camera, live videos are hosted to the user’s smart phone. To view those hosted videos, we have created an android or ios application. The user has to install it in order to use MIRROR mirror. Using the same app user can capture images, record videos, save them in his smart phone or save them in the server and delete them from the server. And also he can use this Mirror mirror as a security camera to record videos using the motion detection system.
