Visiting Scholar Professor Dawn Arnold

 

Professor Dawn Arnold, Molecular Plant Pathologist of the Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences, University of the West of England, United Kingdom, visiting the Department of
Botany, University of Kelaniya.

Prof Arnold’s research involves investigations into the molecular genetics of a group of plant pathogenic Pseudomonads and studies of the genes responsible for the bacteria/plant interaction,
investigation into pathogenicity islands present in these bacteria and study into the role of plasmids in the interaction between bacteria and plant. She has research collaborations with the University of Reading and University of Oxford, UK. Prof Arnold has many research articles published in reputed journals to her credit.

The aim of this “inviting a visiting scholar” program is to give students an opportunity to interact with eminent researchers in the field and extend the collaborative efforts for academic members.
