Student Societies

The students who follow course units offered by the Department are members of either the Botany or Molecular Biology and Plant Biotechnology Societies (MBBT). A council is elected for these societies each year from the student membership and academic staff members and they with the active participation of all members carry out various innovative activities. Some of these include a Botany Day with participation of relevant industries and academics, exhibitions, field excursions, musical shows and film shows. Such activities have inculcated leadership skills and developed ability to work harmoniously as groups in the student community. Recently following activities were organized.
